Gold Concours des Burgondia 2013
Grape Variety : 100 % Pinot Noir
Alcohol : 13% alc.vol.
Winemaking : The grapes are hand-picked, 100% de-stemmed and placed in vats. After a prefermentary cold maceration, the alcoholic fermentation begins. Punching of the cap is carried out twice a day during this fermentation. The wine is then raised in oak barrels for 18 months (with 20 to 30% new oak). It is racked up to three times during this period. The wine is bottled after fining and without being filtered to ensure all its aromas are expressed fully.
Tasting Notes: This Nuits Saint Georges has an intense nose with blackcurrant aromas. We rediscover these black fruit notes on the palate accompanied by some nice woody hints. We appreciate the long and spicy finish. The tannins present suggest there is good cellaring potential. This is powerful, big bodied and full of character.
Serving Suggestions : Red Meats. Mature, Creamy Cheeses.
Ageing Potential : We can start to appreciate it after 2 to 3 years in the cellar or leave it to age for 8 to 12 years.
Volume : 750 ml
